ACT Course Descriptions
Test Preps encourages all students to try BOTH the SAT and the ACT early in their Junior year to see if they have an aptitude for one test over the other. If so, they can then target their preparation toward one test. All colleges across the country will accept either the SAT or the ACT for admission purposes.
Test Preps offers ACT courses throughout the year, each starting about one month prior to the upcoming ACT. Students should take the ACT immediately upon completion of our course. Just like our SAT courses, in order to benefit the most from each class, students must be willing to commit to an average of 45 minutes of homework most nights. This additional practice, in conjunction with our program, is what will impact the biggest change in a student's ACT score.
ACT Courses:
Test Preps offers two ACT courses, depending on your experience:
1. ACT Complete - This course is designed for students who have not taken a class with us before or who struggle with standardized testing. This course meets on four dates (1.5 hour classes) for a total of 6 hours.
2. ACT Express - If you have completed our Test Preps 8 week SAT course, ACT Express is for you! We take all the
great tactics you learned for the SAT and teach you how to apply them to the ACT. This course meets on three
dates (1.5 hour classes) for a total of 4.5 hours.
Class Size:
Students are placed in small groups of 4-6 students. Class sizes are limited to ensure a maximum 1:6 teacher to student ratio.
Cost:
ACT Complete ( Four 1.5 hour classes) - $325
ACT Express (Three 1.5 hour classes) - $225 *Only offered to our SAT Course grads!

Materials:
All students will receive an ACT preparation text (The Real ACT Prep Guide) and our Test Preps curriculum folder.
Homework:
Assigned at each session. Approximately 30 - 45 minutes most nights. Students need to complete all ACT homework under timed conditions in order to internalize the pacing needed to achieve their goal on the ACT.
Attendance:
Attendance at all classes is mandatory because each lesson builds upon the previous class. Missed classes must be made up before the following class at a rate of $50 per hour.
